The Accountant will have the opportunity to join a vibrant, rapidly expanding organization, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer. You will examine sophisticated financial data and reports as a senior accountant. You supervise the accounting activities of a corporation. Financial transactions are regulated and authenticated by senior accountants. You keep a ledger to assure the efficacy and precision of all accounting duties. It is your responsibility to balance corporate accounts and confirm and validate bank statements. Experience with electronic ledger systems is required.

Duties and Responsibility for Accountant Jobs in Canada 2023:

• Responsible for conducting analytic and quality reviews of critical financial operations (AR, AP, GL, etc.)
• Internal and external audit support for the Accounting and Tax Manager
• Initiates and processes general ledger transactions and ensures that balance sheet accounts are properly maintained, recorded, supported, current, reconciled, and accurate, and that inconsistencies are swiftly resolved.
• Ensures timely and accurate revenue, cost, and accrual reporting.
• As required, reviews supporting contracts, orders, and vouchers affecting detailed general ledger transactions.
• Compiles and analyses financial information pertaining to intercompany transactions, and creates balance sheets, profit, and loss statements, and other reports to describe intercompany transactions.
• Reconciles and administers all accounts and transactions related to the treasury.
• Responsible for overseeing treasury needs, cash flow monitoring, and bank reconciliation.
• Prepares mandatory reporting for company taxes, local taxes, and capital expenditures.
• Prepares month-end Financial Statements, including the editing of any required accounting journal entries and the preparation of schedules for formal monthly reports.
• Creates year-end files for assessment by external auditors.
• Maintaining accounting schedules and accompanying paperwork, performing balance sheet reconciliations on all accounts.
• As needed, provides backup help to other members of the finance team.
• Adheres to organizational standards and procedures, such as the Code of Ethics and Confidentiality Agreements, among others.
• Additional responsibilities may be allocated as necessary.

Qualifications for Accountant Jobs in Canada 2023:

• Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Commerce, or Accounting Certificate from an authorized college or university.
• 3-5 years’ worth of accounting experience.
• CPA certification or enrolment in the CPA program are both advantageous.
• Industry expertise (agricultural) is an asset.
• Acceptable qualifications include equivalent industry experience paired with other formal training and accreditations.
• The ability to communicate with a workforce that speaks Spanish is an asset.
